Mixing acrylic colors

Color mixing is a vital step in my painting. Very seldomly do I use a pure color straight from the tube, in fact, almost never. I want my color pallet to be my own, a custom variation on what it appears to be. I will mix 2 or 3 colors to recreate a simple tonal color. Even when creating blacks, I will use a small amount of a color to create a personal and unique black. Whites will also have a tone when I create them. How do you painters feel about color mixing?
